ABOUT ME

Hello!

I'm Luke Donahue, an actor, singer and voice teacher in the Washington, D.C. area. Hailing from Roseville, California, I grew up right outside of Sacramento and spent my childhood reading comic books and playing make-believe.

Eventually I took a crack at acting, debuting in the "renowned" production of Silverado Middleschool's Law and Order: Fairytale Unit. In my sophomore year of high school I was cast in my local community theater's production of Les Miserables, and fell in love with singing. Realizing that sports wasn't my forte, I continued to perform throughout high school, studying and honing my skill set.

Along with rehearsals, I spent my time outside of school taking voice lessons, and developed a fascination for vocal technique. I would read  any vocal pedagogy book I could, and made a lot of ugly noises experimenting with singing in my room (Thanks for putting up with it Mom and Dad!)

After a zany journey involving high school graduation, Ashland, Oregon, Walmart, and a lot of college auditions I stumbled my way into Washington DC. I've been blessed enough to have performed at The Kennedy Center, and Arena Stage, sung at Strathmore Hall and the US Institution for Peace, and taken part in Summerstock at Shawnee Theatre. In my free time I love to cook, run, shoot trap, and am still an avid comic book fan.
